 Step 1- highlight any questions where the correct
answer is not the highest percentage. If so, this is a
complete redesign of the content.

 Step 2- Guessing Questions- highlight any questions


where all 4 answers were almost equal. If so, this is a
complete redesign of the content.

 Step 3- Distractors- highlight any questions where 2 of


the answers were less than 70%, two were low. Kids
have access to this curriculum, but were distracted.
Item Analysis
 Step 4- Hybrids- (Know-guess) Less than 75% the
correct answer, other 3 equally balanced- Those who
didn’t know it guessed- Tweak instruction

 Step 5- Eliminate 1- correct less than 75%- 2 guess- 1

 Step 6- Anything where 75% or more of the kids were


correct- celebrate and move on
