DENTAL MATERIALS
1.Direct Restoration
• Amalgam
• Composite Resin
• Glass ionomer cement
2. Indirect Restoration
Precious metals are used for inlays, crowns and bridges
due to their resistance to rust and corrosion. Of the seven
precious metals considered to be noble by their usability
standards in the field of dentistry, only gold, palladium and
platinum are now widely used in dentistry
3. NATURE OF DENTAL MATERIALS

The ideal properties of restorative materials

can be divided into 4 categories:
1. Physical-mechanical properties
2. Biocompatibility
3. esthetic
4. clinical application
4. MAINTENANCE MATERIALS
ROOTS
The basic composition of the endodontic filler comprises
2 components, core material and sealer.
1. Core Material
A. Compact material
• Gutta-Percha
• Silver Points
• Resilon
• Coated cone
B. Semisolid / paste material
• Zinc Oxide and Eugenol
• Plastic
2. Sealer Material
1.Skiner based solvent

4. Resin-based sealer
5. Calcium Hydroxide
6. Silicone based sealer
7. Mineral Trioxide-Aggregate
5. STAGES OF VITALITY TESTS
Dental vitality test can only provide
information that there is still a neural
network that delivers sensory impulses,
rather than indicating that the pulp is still
normal.
1. Thermic test.
2. Electrical tests
