Cerro Catedral in San Carlos de Bariloche.
Cerro Catedral is a mountain located in San Carlos de Bariloche, 19
kilometers from the city center and within the Nahuel Huapi National Park,
in Argentina. It is the largest ski center in South America and the Southern
Hemisphere.
History

The zone of tracks was initially covered with forests, for its clearance it was counted on with the
collaboration of the Argentine Army.

The Catedral Alta Patagonia company took over the concession of the entire hill, beginning a
modernization plan that considerably increased the number of transportable passengers per hour.

The southern end of the Cathedral is highlighted by a series of stone spiers that gave the name to the
mountain and is the scene of an important activity of rock climbing, mainly in summer.
CLIMATE
The climate of the hill is affected by altitude. In the highest peaks,
it is classified by the Köppen Climatic Classification as an alpine
climate or tundra climate, while at the base, it is classified as a cool
Mediterranean climate.
