ZOOLÓGICO

Barranquilla Zoo

The barranquilla zoo maintains a diversity of native flora and fauna from all regions of
Colombia.

It has an area of ​16 hectares where there are about 550 animals of more than 140 different
species and more than 60 species of arboreal. The zoo has animals including the spectacled
bear, the eagle, the pink flamingos.
MALECÓN PUERTA DE ORO

It is located on the bank of the Magdalena River that runs along 5 km. It is the
principal river of Colombia, flowing northward about 1,528 kmthrough the western
half of the country. There, we appreciate beautiful landscapes of the river this takes
us back to our origins that are linked to the Magdalena River which is our main river
artery.

It is the ideal space to enjoy an outdoor experience and contact with nature.

Also it has a modern events center destined to be carried out at the service of
Colombia.
LA VENTANA AL MUNDO

The window of the world is the monument to Barranquilla that seeks to become the symbol of the city which
means the fusion of culture and industry.

It is the highest monument that Colombia has, it rises 46 meters, supporting winds over 200 km / h and it is
the most emblematic landmark of the city.

It is a thematic monument. On its lower part, the story of Barranquilla is written. It explains such as the first
ship, the first plane, the first newspaper, the first station, the first immigrants against con a computerized
lighting system.
LA VENTANA CAMPEÓNES

This site was built as a tribute to the soccer team of our city. Its name is Junior de Barranquilla. Also, a
tribute to the sports narrator Edgar Perea, who was a faithful fan of our team.
At night, this monument light up with 87,480 computerized RGB LED lights with striking colors which makes
the view incredible beautiful.
This tower weighs 188 tons and it is designed to withstand winds in excess of 160 km / h.
Curious Fact: The design of the monument was adjusted to preserve 26 native trees (Ceibas Pentandra) that
were in the place before starting the work .
PARQUE CULTURAL DEL CARIBE

This park is dedicated to promote the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the Colombian
Caribbean región. It collects the tradition, music and history of each of the departments of the
coastal region.
The worth visiting rooms of this place are the Pilot Children's Library of the Caribbean, the
Macondo Mediateca Library (specialized in the work of Gabriel García Márquez), a
documentation center, a multi-event room and a public square with open-air theater,
complemented by the Barranquilla Museum of Modern Art and the Caribbean Cinematheque.
