SINGLE BOARD COMPUTER
Single-board computers (SBCs) are complete
computers built on a single circuit board. The design
is centre on a single or dual microprocessor with
RAM, IO and all other features needed to be a
functional computer on the one board.

• BL 2120 MICROCONTROLLER BOARD

• BUILD AROUND RABBIT 2000 MICROPROCESSOR
FEATURES OF BL 2120
• Rabbit 2000™ microprocessor operating at 22.1 MHz.
• 128K static RAM and 256K flash memory
• 40 digital I/O: 24 protected digital inputs and 16
high-current digital outputs
• 15 analog channels: eleven 12-bit A/D converter
inputs, four 12-bit D/A converter 0-10 V outputs
• Four serial ports (2 RS-232 or 1 RS-232 with RTS/CTS,
1 RS-485, and 1 CMOS-compatible programming
port).
• Battery-backed real-time clock.

GYROSCOPE SENSOR
• Gyro sensors, also known as angular
rate sensors or angular velocity sensors,
are devices that sense angular velocity.
Gyro Sensor Types

• Gyro sensors come in a variety of types. Here, different types

are plotted by size and performance.
MICROGYRO 100
• Low cost dual axis mini rate gyroscope sensor.
• It provides easy integration into input devices,
computer controls and remote control.
• It detects rotational movement(pitch, yaw around x
and y axes respectively).
• It’s sensing element is a unique non-contact turning
fork or metal beam.
• When sensor is rotated it responds according to
CORIOLIS effect.
PRINCIPLE OF MG 100
• MG 100 is a vibrating gyroscope sensor
• It sense angular velocity from CORIOLIS force applied
to a vibrating object.
• The Coriolis effect is an apparent deflection of
moving objects when they are viewed from a rotating
reference frame. In a reference frame with clockwise
rotation, the deflection is to the left of the motion of
the object; in one with anti-clockwise rotation, the
deflection is to the right.
In the inertial frame of reference (upper part of the picture), the black
object moves in a straight line, without significant friction with the disc.
However, the observer (red dot) who is standing in the rotating (non-
inertial) frame of reference (lower part of the picture) sees the object
as following a curved path due to the Coriolis and centrifugal forces
present in this frame.
WORKING OF MG 100
INTERFACING OF MG 100 WITH
BL 2120 BOARD

• MG 100 is a analog device

so it’s interfaced with
ADC inputs.

• Gyro sensor draws power

from board itself which
is about 5 Volts.
APPLICATIONS OF GYRO SENSORS
CONCLUSION

• By measuring voltage on the output pins of the MicroGyro, the

motion of the object containing the gyro can be measured and
tracked.

• The result can be used for the integration of two gyroscopes into
a single package which allows user to easily design an intuitive
pointing device for controlling objects in two dimensional space
such as a TV screen, a computer screen, or a video game.

• The information obtained from the MicroGyro 100 can also be

used to cancel out unwanted motion in an application, such as
camcorder image stabilization or antenna stabilization .
