high quality products so its necessary get an iso certification.
• It will help improve customer satisfaction, greater emphasis is given to the
aspect of quality in the supply chain.
• Supply chain operations within an organization should be constantly reviewed
to identify where improvements can be made or deficiencies eliminated apart
from these standards we use other two methods to maintain good quality and

ISO 9000 & 9004

 ISO 9001 is a global quality management standard. Thousands of companies in over 100 countries
have adopted it, and many more are in the process of doing. Because it controls quality. It saves
money. Customers expect it. And competitors use it.

 The term ISO 9000 unfortunately has two different meanings:

it refers to a single standard (ISO 9000) and it refers to a set of three standards (ISO 9000, ISO 9001, and
ISO 9004). All three are referred to as quality management system standards.

 ISO 9001 is also important because of its systemic orientation. We think this is crucial. Many people
wrongly emphasize motivational and attitudinal factors. The assumption is that
quality can only be created if workers are motivated and have the right attitude. This is fine, but it
doesn't go far enough. Unless you institutionalize the right attitude by supporting
it with the right policies, procedures, records, technologies, resources, and structures, you will never
achieve the standards of quality that other organizations seem to be able to achieve. Unless you
establish a quality attitude by creating a quality management system, you will never achieve a world-
class standard of quality.
ISO 14000
 Develop an environmental policy for your organization.
An EMS is a network of interrelated elements. These elements include responsibilities,
authorities, relationships, functions, processes, practices, procedures, and resources.

 Clarify and respect the legal and other requirements that apply to your organization’s
environmental aspects. ISO 14001 wants you to identify and meet these requirements.

 Set environmental objectives and targets for all relevant functions and levels within your
organization. Your objectives and targets should address significant environmental
aspects and be consistent with your environmental policy.
 Create programs to implement your Environmental policy and  achieve your
Environmental objectives and targets. Make sure that your programs allocate
responsibility for implementing your environmental policy and achieving
your environmental objectives and targets.

 Evaluate your environmental management system in order to identify opportunities

for improvement. ISO 14001 expects you to monitor, measure, audit, and review
your EMS in order to identify corrective and preventive actions and to improve
your overall environmental performance. It also expects you
to make sure that your environmental policy is appropriate and being applied, and
that your environmental objectives and targets are being achieved.

Iso 9003
 The new ISO IEC 90003 2004 standard was published on February 15, 2004.
It replaces the old ISO 9000-3 1997 software standard which is now obsolete

 HOW TO USE ISO IEC 90003

 Use the ISO IEC 90003 guidelines to help you understand how the ISO 9001
requirements can be met in a computer software environment. The ISO 90003
guidelines try to explain how the ISO 9001 requirements can be met if your
organization purchases, develops, operates, maintains, or supplies computer
software and delivers related support services.
 ISO 90003 may be applied to software in the following circumstances:
 When the software is a product available for the market place.
 When the software is used to support the processes of an organization
 When the software is part of a commercial contract with another organization.
 When the software is related to software services.
 When the software is embedded in a hardware product.
 ISO IEC 90003 2004 is not supposed to be used as a set of criteria against which
software oriented quality management systems are to be assessed for
certification (registration) purposes. It is not a certification standard. Instead,
ISO 90003 is used to develop an ISO 9001 2000 quality management system
which can be used to apply for an ISO 9001 certificate (not an ISO 90003
certificate)..
