Sample Discussion

A: What do you think of the two destinations?

B: I think they are both great places to visit.
A: Yes, but which one do you prefer?
B: Well, I would love to visit Lake Chini River.
A: Why?
B: Well, first of all, I would like to go on a holiday with my cousins, and coincidentally there
are nine of us. I can get another friend to go with me to make up the number of people
required in a group. Then, the rate is much cheaper too. Since the rate is RM3000, each
of us need only pay RM300 per person. I think it is quite affordable because we love
jungle-trekking and the chalets are near the local community. The chance to be able to
speak to the Orang Asli is priceless, and one of my cousins is very interested in tribal life.
A: However, the package will only be for two days and one night. Is it worth it?
B: Yes, some of my cousins are working so it is hard for them to get a long holiday.
We will be going for a weekend.
A: Well, I will definitely choose the Haji Dorani Homestay. I think it is a better choice for me.
B: Why is that so?
A: First of all, I never go on a holiday without my family. There are only four of us but we
always bring our two cousins with us. Then, I really want to experience village life.
B: Haven't you stayed in a kampung before?
A: Well, my grandparents passed away even before I was born, so I have never experienced
living in a kampung. So, I really want to do all the activities listed there. I have never fished
before and I certainly want to learn batik-painting and kite-making.
B: That’s a great way of spending your holiday, I must say! I hope you’ll have a good time
there because I definitely will enjoy my choice of destination.
A: Now that we have chosen our holiday destination, what do you plan to do on your last day
there?
B: Well, I plan to have a long chat with the local community, the Jakuns. I would like to know
more about their life and history. How about you?
A: I will definitely try kerepek-making at the nearby factory.
B: Really, why?
A: I would like to learn how to make kerepek and hopefully, I can make full use of it for my
future kerepek business.
