8600 & ProStar Clutch Linkage

Requires Frequent Adjustment

If you experience an 8600 or ProStar that continues to
loose clutch pedal free play or has a no crank issue it
may have a clutch linkage adjustable ball joint that is
not holding it’s adjustment. This applies to all model
years of the above vehicles.
Current Field Containment
• The current field containment for this issue would be
to add a M10x1.5 metric nut and use it as a jam nut
against the adjustable ball joint.
• First you need to verify that the unit has proper clutch
pedal free play ( 1” to 1.5”) this is accomplished by
rotating the 5/8” adjustable ball joint hex head to
shorten or lengthen horizontal linkage.
• After adjustment is correct add M10x1.5 thread nut
and jam up against adjustable ball 5/8” hex head, hold
5/8” head with wrench and tighten new nut to 25 to 35
lb ft torque.
