    Comparing Fractions

    All fractions have value. You can compare two or more fractions using the following symbols.

    Greater than Less Than Equal to

    > < =

    Remember these rules when comparing fractions.

    Same numerator Same denominator

    The smaller the denominator is the greater fraction. The larger numerator is the greater fraction.
    COMPARING A FRACTION

    You can use the butterfly method to cross multiply and compare the
    products. The larger product is the side with the greater fraction.
