GIFEC PR PLATFORM

GIFTEC COMMUNICATIONS

The Communications Management Section,


of the Ghana Investment Fund for
Electronic Communications, shall be
comprised of the following sections:
• Research and Information
• Public Relations ( esp. community relations)
• Information and Service
PURPOSE
• It is a duty of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic
Communications to maintain close, working relationships
between the Fund, the government and the publics
(citizenry).
• Because the job functions of the Fund are complex, and
because understanding between he publics (citizens),
the government and the Fund is increasingly necessary
and important the Communication Department of the
Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications is
required to do the following:

• Inform GIFEC officials on citizen opinion and citizen
suggestions for GIFEC operations.
• Inform the public clearly on GIFEC functions and activities.
• Promote greater citizen participation in GIFEC
programmes.
• Provide professional skill in assisting GIFEC and
cooperating agencies in promoting the Fund’s outside
interests.
• Assist in maintaining a cooperative spirit and good morale
among all GIFEC officials and employees, and stakeholders.
CREATION AND FUNCTIONS
The Communications Section performs the following specific functions:

•Conduct research, as required by the Government, the Board,


Administrator, or department heads, and cooperating agencies.

•Prepare and furnish special reports which may be required by the


Government, the Board, or department heads, and cooperating agencies.

•Create and maintain an information file of facts and figures on all


departments or units of GIFEC.

• Prepare annual reports, departmental reports, and
other reports.
• Serve as a central information source on GIFEC
for public, officials and agencies; cooperate with
community organisations (social, business, church,
schools, fraternal) seeking information about
GIFEC affairs and operations.
• Prepare and disseminate information suitable for
the newspapers, radio and TV organisations, and
other communication media ( e.g. website) serving
the community

• Coordinate plans and publicity for sponsored
events, programmes, and other special events,
including reception of official guests.
• Prepare and disseminate information about GIFEC
to promotion groups such as chambers of
commerce and industry, development agencies,
municipal and district assemblies and cooperate
with such groups in the interest of sound
business, industry, mutual relations, etc.
• Perform such other functions/duties as may be
assigned by the Board, the Administrator or
authorized by government in keeping with the
aims and objectives of GIFEC.
 
THE MEN AND WOMEN
• Currently the Communications
Section has one permanent employee
and three national service personnel.
• Ideally, a manager and two others ,
are required.

This is slanted in writing. The font size is dependent on paper size.
