What is TLM?

In the field of Education, TLM is a commonly


used acronym that stands for “
Teaching/Learning Materials”. Broadly
speaking, the term refers to a spectrum of
Educational Materials that Teachers use in
the classroom to support specific Learning
objectives, as set out in lesson plan.
Types of TLM
1. Realia : some real objects or proto types are shown

Different types of Teaching Learning Materials

1. Visual Aids : The aids which use sense of vision are


called visual aids. Ex- models, pictures, charts, maps,
flash cards, chalkboard, overhead projector, slides
2. Audio Aids : The aids that involve the sense of hearing
are called audio aids. Ex- radio, tape recorder,
gramophone,
3. Audio Visual Aids : The aids which involve the sense of
vision as well as hearing are called audio-visual aids.
Ex- television, film projector, film strips, videos,
mobile, laptop, computer etc
