VEHICULAR CABLE-STAYED BRIDGE WITH SEISMIC ISOLATORS

INTRODUCCIÓN
The function of a bridge is to save a geographical feature (river) in a safe
way. However, natural disasters (earthquakes) make this task very complex
for civil engineers. There are ways to counteract this action and one of
them is the use of seismic isolators, for this case applied to a reinforced
concrete bridge

OBJECTIVES
• Create a cable-stayed bridge with sismal insulators on a scale of 1/50
• Properly perform the construction process of a cable-stayed bridge
• The bridge presents a high resistance to compression and traction which
will depend on the amount of concrete and steel respectively.
• Seismic insulators reduce the effect of telluric movements and braces
work to compression and traction

KEYWORDS:
• friction isolators, elastomeric isolators, seismic isolation, nonlinear dynamic analysis, seismic demand.

CONCLUSIONS AND APPLICATIONS IN PERU

The use of seismic isolators modifies the dynamic response of the bridge in terms of vibration modes since, for
the bridge without isolation, the main modes are longitudinal, while for the bridge with insulation systems the
first mode is in the longitudinal direction and the second mode of vibration is in the transverse directio
