– Limit Situations
– Challenging Conditions
• Socrates
– Love of Wisdom
– Insatiable desire for truth
– Philosopher does not seek knowledge to claim
ownership
– I know that I do not know…
– The unexamined life is not worth Living.
HOLISTIC versus PARTIAL Thinking
• Holistic Thinking
– Perspective that considers large-scale patterns in
system
– Looking at the “big Picture”.
– General sense of the situation
• Partial Thinking
– Specific aspects of a situation
– Focusing on a certain area in order to understand
REFLECTION
• Requires a person to be willing to examine one’s
thoughts, feelings, and actions and to learn more
about one’s life and experiences
– Simple to deeper questions
• Reflection is vital in ensuring that our actions and
decisions are well thought out and are done with due
regard for their implications and consequences on
ourselves, others, and our surroundings.
• Reflections help us to understand ourselves and our
actions better.
• When we reflect, we can judge whether our actions are
reasonable or not.
• Paving way to a wiser and rational choice.
