let’s try this

“Myself, Deciding Right and Wrong”

How do you describe yourself when you have committed a right decision? How about if you have
committed a wrong decision?

This is ME when I have committed a RIGHT This is ME when I have committed a WRONG
decision decision

Processing Questions:

1. How do you compare the two images of yourself?

These two pictures are completely opposite to each other, therefore, it’s not difficult to compare them.
The first image of myself is smiling and happy. That is because I committed the right decision. While the
other image is sad and indescribable. That is because I have committed a wrong decision.

2. Did you have the same decision-making process for both situations? Explain an example for each.

Obviously, no. In the first image, my face reflects a happy face so that means my decision making is
right and good. While my decision on the other image reflects the sad and negative outcome. Having
the same decision-making process on different problems doesn’t mean different outcomes. If that
decision of mine is right, then the outcome on two different problems would also be right. Whatever
situation it may, if my decision is good then it will reflect on the outcome.

3. If you are to assess whatever decisions you made in the past 2 months, where do you categorize them
and why?

If I were to assess, I will categorize them on the second image. Lately, I have a hard time dealing with
my time-management. I was always planning on organizing it but my decisions, bad decisions, leads to
a more stressful life. Instead of sleeping early, I end up going to bed every twelve in the midnight.
Instead of answering my assignments whenever I had the time, I end up scrolling through my cellphone
and then procrastinate after. I really am committing a wrong decision in life.

let’s explore this!

Remember more about your experiences in making right and wrong decisions. At the back of the same
paper, explain the situations where each image reflects. Make your answer in essay format guided by the
following pointers.

• What was running in your head when you were in that situation?

• What did you feel about the situation?

• What did you do about the situation?

• How did your body react to the situation?

As a human being, we are bound to make mistakes. Fortunately, we are given the wisdom to
do good on others and even in our own decisions. In making bad decision, I remembered that one
situation when I was still young where I decided to play on the mini-bridge my relatives built on the
canal. Enjoyment was the only thing I want at that time so I thought, why not gonna cross it with my
eyes shut? Thrill and enjoyment was running in my head at that situation. I was eager to achieve this
crazy goal of mine not knowing it would lead me to my nightmare. Sad is an understatement of wat I
felt about the situation. I was regretful. It made me ask why did I do that and why did I thought of doing
that. After what happened, at first I cried and cried because I was just a kid that time and there’s a fear
in me knowing that my right hand’s bone had a small crack. For how many days or weeks of resting, I
started to regret all and instead of crying again, I chose to be calm and I asked forgiveness to the Lord
and also for His guidance and healing to my injury. At that time, my body almost broke down that I
didn’t want to eat nor have the courage to do everything because of what happened. My body was
always resting and it kind of weaken.
Making a bad and wrong decision leaves a big impact to my life. I have realized that I should
think outside the box, review what might happen, and ask guidance to the people around me when
making a decision. Because even if a situation is small, it will lead to a big outcome when good decision
was being used. There was this one situation, which I clearly remembered that I made the best decision
in my life. In the past few months, I’ve been having a hard time in achieving my goal which is to finish a
book. Obviously, I am an aspiring writer but the problem is, I am too lazy and my schedules are always
full. Every time I want to write, the ideas I have begun to vanish. That’s why I made a quick action and
decide to manage my time as soon as possible. I also decided to be more productive in my writing. No
more scrolling on the phone and no more procrastinating. At that situation, the only thing that was
running in my head is that I want this plan to be effective. I felt nervous but at the same time, the
eagerness of mine in this situation. To ensure that my plan is effective, I took an action of course. I tried
to write everyday even if it’s just a phrase or a sentence. I was happy knowing that my decision started
to make effects and this time, my body reacted with joy and more eagerness to complete this important
task in my life.

Processing Questions:

1. What insights did you get from both the experiences of making a right and a wrong decision?

The insights I get from those experiences of making a right and a wrong decision is that whatever the
consequences are, we should be responsible with our actions. It is necessary to think multiple times
before making a decision in order to avoid regretting it at a later time.

2. What changes did both decisions make in your life?

As for the changes, the good decision I made benefitted me and gave me more opportunities in life
while the wrong ones, it made me realize that it is still important because of the learnings I get but
although there is a lesson, I should refrain from deciding wrong.

3. If given a chance, would you still do the same decisions? Why or why not?

Obviously, I won’t do the same wrong decision again but the right one, yes, I would still do it over and
over. It is because that decision is proven and tested which means I don’t have to doubt it anymore.

you can do it!

Write a narration of a decision you made in the past which you consider a wrong one. Imagine how it
would change if you apply all or any of the ways discussed in the previous part of the module. What could
have happened if the course of action was different? Do this on a piece of paper.
Previously, I made a decision that I was almost always on my phone; I only go out from my room
to eat and also go back after. I considered it a bad decision because I do not give my parents and family
enough time and attention. Because of my awareness, I was able to correct my mistakes. Realizing what
I’ve done is not a good thing to normalize in our own house. If the course of action was different, with
all those ways discussed above, the outcome would have been also different. If I am to imagine, my
decisions would be change into right by weighing my options, reviewing what outcome it will bring, and
by seeking guidance to my family.

what I’ve learned

How will you improve your decision-making? Write at least 5 things that you certainly can apply in
yourself.

 Foremost, I should make a plan. If there’s an upcoming decision I needed to make, it would be
much easier if I already have a plan.
 Limit choices. This is to make choosing less difficult for me because of the limited but effective
choices there is. Also, this won’t take a huge amount of my time.
 Weigh my options. Weighing my options will help me to commit a right decision. This will help
me know what options are better and what its impact would be.
 Learn from experience. By learning from my experiences, this will help me attain and secure a
decision that is good and right. As they say, experiences aren’t always a mistake.
 Ask an expert. This is to have and get a guidance from the people that may be my family or
friends. By asking them, I can learn from their ideas and can also use it as a tool when I’m making
a decision.

share your thoughts and feelings

A right decision for me is something that is well-thought and has a great outcome and impact to me.

It is OK to commit a wrong decision as long as there’s learning and if it’s my first tie deciding in that kind
of situation but if I committed this decision twice, then it would be better to refrain from using it.

From now on, I will own my decision by loving it and have the full responsibility of what the outcome
would be.
