let’s try this

Respect was shown to me when... I think discrimination was evident when...

People will listen to what I’m about to say, People gets mistreated in the aspects of gender,
when I get to explain my side of the story, and if appearance, weight, race, and etc., called things
people appreciate every little thing I’ve done. that are insulting, and when a person don’t get
to enjoy the rights he or she have.

Processing Questions:

1. How do you describe your feelings and thoughts about respect and discrimination, and why?

My thoughts and feelings about respect is that it was one of the significant attitude we should
have as an individual. It’s because respect also means loving and honoring a person. But to earn
respect, you have to treat people right because as what they’ve said, respect beets respect. On the
other side, my feelings and thoughts about discrimination is that it’s being normalize nowadays,
publicly or discreetly, and it’s always been the trend since then when in fact, it shouldn’t be.
Discrimination, as we all know, is a bad thing we should never wear. In discrimination, you’re not just
pointing at people’s flaws and imperfection. You are also bringing their confidence down to the fact
that they started to have anxiety or depression.

2. When do you know if respect is being shown? if there is discrimination? Cite some indicators.

I will know if respect is being shown in many things. First of all, listening to what one has to
say is an example of basic respect. Another example is respecting one’s belief and opinion even if
yours is different. I will know if there’s discrimination when a person is uncomfortable on what others
have said. I will also know if that person will not laugh in a joke because obviously, it’s offensive.

3. Is it possible to replace discrimination with respect? How?

I believe, yes. I know that we’re just a mere people and we are not perfect but we can replace
discrimination with respect by looking at people on the inside and not judging their whole life. And if
people could have been kinder to each other, no discrimination would arise for we understand
everyone.

promote respect as part of social skill among netizens. It can be a slogan, poster or audio-visual
presentation (if possible). For slogan or poster, use a short bond paper and any coloring materials.
what I have learned

Answer the following questions on a clean sheet of paper.

1. What are your experiences of showing respect to people like your family, friends, and classmates?

My experience on showing respect to my family, friends, and classmates are the following:

 Family – by listening to what they said because it’s for my own good and also, being obedient
to them.
 Friends – by acknowledging their efforts as a friend and address the mistakes of each other
with kindness.
 Classmates – by respecting their own ideas and thoughts in classes.

2. How do we keep harmony with others especially during this time of pandemic?

In my point of view, to keep harmony with others especially in this time of pandemic, we
should always follow the rules and regulations. This will help everyone be secured. Second, by
keeping our community strong and positive at all times. Also, we can all be in harmony by prioritizing
communication. Interact with them through personal or non-personal if we have free time to
maintain a good relationship.

3. How did the pandemic affect the way you treat people? How do you interact with other people?

The pandemic affects the way I treat people in a good way. It made me treat other people in
the sense of positivity, patience, kindness, and by encouraging them to not worry about the future. I
know it’s difficult to live in this time but it doesn’t mean that I should be mean to others. I interact
with people through social media and tell them to always stay safe. In that way, even if only in words,
I can be a blessing to them.
