ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT


 The total strength of the department for the academic year 2018-2019 is 248 with 8
faculty members.

 This course offers a program of study to meet the significant increase in demand
for Computer Scientists with an Accounting background.

 It provides the teaching in the area of commerce, accounting and computers


Science.

 It highlights the concepts and skills for accountancy and computer Science.

 So far 10 batches had graduated from the department.

 Non-technical options allow students to explore a related area such as law,


economics or management.

 The Commerce CA degree aims to inculcate training and practical approach among
the students by using modern technologies

 The department was established in the academic year 2006.

 The department sanctioned sections were 01 and from the academic year
2010 it increased to 02 sections

 The total seats granted for the department were 60 per section.

 The total number of students from others states were 7 members, 6 of them from
Kerala and one from Karnataka.

 Out of 861 students 500 students were belongs to state board, 161 students were
belongs to Matriculation school, 100 students belongs to CBSC, 200 students were
belongs to Government school

 The total numbers of first graduation students were 300

 Totally 162 students were admitted with highest mark in +2 ranging from 1153 –
885 and Kaviya.A, Ragul.R of I B.Com CA A got Rs.2000 and Rs.4000 as cash
prize. Ajay.A got silver medal with Rs. 10,000 cash prize, Santhiya.M got cash
prize Rs.1000 of I B.Com. CA B.Tharani and Sathosh sivan of II B.Com. CA A
got cash prize of the class first in 12th

 Totally 82% of the students were placed in various companies through off campus
and on campus

 Our department has produced 4 University Ranks.

 Conducted more than 28 guest Lecturers, 2 Workshops, 6 extension activities in


the label of 'ZIBEC' Association

 Conducted 3 National level seminars

 We have published 01 Edited ISBN books entitled “BUSINESS FINANCE" on


2017.

 Organized bridge course for Non – Accounts students.

 95 of our Department students have been placed in various companies like


KGiSL,Wipro, Infosys, CTS, TCS etc.,

 More than 100 UG Students have participated and presented papers in various
Colleges.

 In Under Graduate we got 95 distinctions and 185 First classes during the year
2010-2015.

 Our department faculty members have published more than 96 Research papers
in various National & International Journals.

 MoUs signed with leading Professional Institutes to provide Internship.

 Mandatory student and Faculty enrolment in SWAYAM / NPTEL Online courses


every year.

 Full-fledged department library with subject books and projects.

conducted by our College .

 In the year 2017 the PSG College of Arts and Science conducted a

 Firebird Institute of Research and Management conducted “PHONIX 2017”


in the year 2017 and 20 of our students participated in that.

 In 2016 our college organized “BIZNETS 16 Inter collegiate meet” and 30

growth in India was conducted and 270 were participated.

 We have signed MoU with CA Shanmugavadivel , Shanmugavadivel & co
Coimbatore, Provided the opportunity to the students in research activity,
internship and to gain practical knowledge towards the auditing principles.
INTERNSHIPS
 10 Students undergone internship training with Mr.Paul Thangam, Chartered
Accountant.

Group project

 Totally 645 students completed their projects under marketing topics related to
brand strategy, sales promotion, advertisement, social marketing etc.,

 Totally 861 students completed their project under financial topics regarding
ratio analysis, financial performance, comparative analysis, working capital
management etc

 One of our faculty member registered the M.Phil in Bharathiar University with
the specialization of data mining

Ph.D. Registered

 Three of our faculty members registered in Bharathiar University with the


specializations in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

Paper & Book Publications

 Totally 36 papers were published by our faculty members in UGC approved


Journal with an average impact factor of 5.0

 Three of our faculty members jointly published a book on Business finance in


the academic year 2017 with the ISBN number of 978-81-932808-8-5
SPECIAL TRAINING
RPA Hackthon
 Robotic Process Automation is the technology that allows anyone today to
configure computer software, or a “robot” to emulate and integrate the actions
of a human interacting within digital system to execute a business process.

 Totally 21 students participated in RPA hackthon training classes.

 7 teams comprising 21students had attended the RPA hackathon Organised by


UI path. 3 students of III B.Com.CA A was placed in KGiSL.
