INTRODUCTION
• ZigBee is a technological standard designed for
control and sensor networks
• Based on the IEEE 802.15.4 Standard
• Created by the ZigBee Alliance
• Operates in Personal Area Networks (PAN’s) and
device-to-device networks
• This communication system is less expensive and
simpler than the other short-range wireless sensor
networks as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
COMPARISION OF ZIGBEE AND
BLUETOOTH
• ZIGBEE
1. Range is of 70-300m.
2. Data rate is of 250kbps.
3. Complexity is less.
• BLUETOOTH
1. Range is of 10m.
2. Data rate is of 1mbps.
3. Complexity is more.
ZIGBEE ARCHITECTURE
CHARACTERISTICS

• Low power consumption
• Low data rate
• Long range
• Scalability
• Reliability
• Flexible protocol design suitable for many
applications
ZIGBEE NETWORK TOPOLOGIES
APPLICATIONS
ADVANTAGES
• Zigbee has a flexible network structure.
• It has very long battery life.
• Zigbee has a mesh network topology with low
cost, multi hope data transmission and is power
effective
• It is less complex than Bluetooth.
• It is easy to install.
• Zigbee is more reliable.
• It is a short working period result in power saving
and power consumption of communication.
CONCLUSION

ZIGBEE communication technology could form the

basis of future wireless sensors offering:
• Data realibility.
• Long battery life.
• Lower system cost.
• Good range and flexible network.
