Introduction

 Yognanda foundation was founded by Paramahansa Yogananda


in the late 20th century. The yognanda satsang sakh ashram in
Noida is one of it’s Operational retreat center.

 Located in sector 62 of Noida, it was inaugurated in January 2010


after the completion of its first phase of construction. Built on a 5
acre plot barely 4 k.m. from the Delhi-U.P border, this phase consists
of an Administration Block and two Retreat Blocks.
 The Administration Block is a 3-storey building with a full basement. It
includes a Dhyana Mandir, Reception, Books/Library, Counselling
Rooms, Kitchen/Dining, Offices, rooms for sannyasis, and for
devotees transiting through the National Capital Region, for up to 3
days requiring advance booking.

 The two Retreat Blocks, separate for men and women, and with 30
single rooms each, are a speciality of this ashram built with a focus
on individual and conducted spiritual retreats. Devotees are invited
to stay for 3-6 days of Individual Retreats with silence, study and
sadhana, as also counselling by resident monastics. In addition,
there are regular Conducted Retreats, lead by monastics, mostly
over weekends
Location
 Noida is located in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh
state India. Noida is about 25 kilometres southeast of New Delhi, 20
kilometres northwest of the district headquarters – Greater Noida and
457 kilometres (284 mi) northwest of the state capital, Lucknow.

Climate

 In summer, i.e. from March to June, the weather remains hot and the
temperature ranges from a maximum of 48 °C to a minimum of 28 °C.

 Monsoon season prevails during mid-June to mid-September.

 The cold waves from the Himalayan region makes the winters in Noida
chilly and harsh. Temperatures fall to as low as 3 to 4 °C at the peak of
winters.

 Noida also has fog and smog problems. In January, a dense fog
envelops the city, reducing visibility on the streets.

Approach
 From Railway Stations
From both (Old) Delhi and New Delhi stations, one can take the METRO to Noida City
Centre (changing at Rajiv Chowk), and then an auto-rickshaw/taxi as above. One can
also go directly by auto-rickshaw/taxi. From the Ghaziabad railway stations, one should
take an autorickshaw or a taxi as there is no Metro.

 From Inter-State Bus Terminus


From ISBT, Kashmiri Gate and Anand vihar take Metro to Noida City Centre and then an
auto-rickshaw/taxi to the Ashram. One can also take an autorickshaw/taxi directly to
Ashram.

 From Delhi (private vehicle or taxis)


Cross Yamuna River by Nizamuddin Bridge, go straight on NH 24, cross UP border, turn right at
second traffic light, and then left at the third turning, to reach the Ashram immediately at the
corner of first right turn.

Separate area for mass Satsang which can accommodate up to 800 people at once.
Bamboo façade, concrete walls and steel truss supported galvanized iron roof.

 Landscaping (garden)
Beautiful garden with two gazebos namely Anand kutir and Shanti kutir. A fountain in between with nicely decorated pathways.
Garden included plants of various types, some of them were, javitri, poppy flowers, hollyhocks, champa, snowgrass, oranges etc.
Services

 Lifts and washrooms are provided in both administration and retreat


blocks
 There was no sign of any kind of fire/emergency exits but fire
detection and protection equipment were present.
 Parking space for 10-15 cars is provided with sheds and open
parking around the site can accommodate upto 35-40 cars.
 Generator /electric room is provided and is located in the south
west corner of the site.
