Introduction

With the rapid development of automobile industry and the

improvement of the speed , active safety control technology
obtained a rapid development, it can improve the operation stability
and the safety in the process of automobile vehicle driving.

Electronic Stability Program (ESP) has been proven to be

one of the Current key technologies to effectively solve the vehicle
active safety. Electronic Stability Control can Control the Vehicle
with the use of Program.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Author Tittle of  Conclusion
Reaserch
Mayank Mishra, Electronic Stability This piece of technology is especially
AbhishekTiwari Control System and its beneficial for teenage
possible contribution to drivers and inexperienced newbies.
Indian road safety ESC is the
best thing that gives hope. It can avoid
these crashes from even
happening.
ESP
ESP stands for
Electronic Stability
Program.
• It is used on vehicles
to prevent “spinning”
during heavy braking
and steering, as
shown in the image
on the left
Components of ESP
• A vehicle stability program requires the interaction of several
electronic modules, sensors, and actuators.
• The most fundamental piece of the ESP system is the ECU
or Electronic Control Unit.
• The ECU is responsible for gathering data from the sensors and
using that data to calculate any adjustments that need to be made to
the brake pressure or engine torque.

Components List
ESP work
`
Application :-1

Imagine this is
facing you!
Naturally you
would brake
and swerve!!
Application :-2

ESP Will monitor

your steering angle
and the direction
around the Z axis
(yaw angle)
Application :-3

As you begin to skid

the hydraulic
modulator will adjust
the brake pressure to
ensure that you make
that change of
direction safely!
Application :- 4

The danger
here is that
the vehicle
will over steer
and “spin”
Application :- 5

The ESP system

will fluctuate the
brake pressure, and
prevent movement
around the Z axis,
keeping the vehicle
in a straight line.
FUTURE SCOPE

 Passanger required a comfortable journey,

ESP prevent the Accident and save life. it
control to lateral vehicle stability during
critical cornering.

 Also ESP reacts instantly and prevent the

vehicle from skidding.So,ESP is very
useful in Future.
Advantages
1. ESP react instantly and prevent the vehicle from
skidding.
2. To avoid accident.
3. ESP improves active safety light off road vehicle.
4. It reduces Accidents while sudden obstruction.
5. ESP could improves the braking efficiency and
performance of stability control.
6. ESP control to lateral vehicle stability during critical
cornering.
Disadvantages
1. It cannot be fitted externally to an old car.
2. Time investment is large, horizontal ESP larger
area.
3. System is more complicated.
4. System increase the cost of vehicle.
Application

Available in Indian cars even under 10 lac rupees:-

1) Ford ECOSPORT 1.5
2) Hyundai i20
3) Renault Duster
4) Hyundai Verna
5) Nissan micra
ESP also used in Mahindra XUV 500
It is also used in Mercedes Benz and Audi A3

CONCLUSION

 Present scenario of all automobile industries is to concentrate on

safety of the passenger and to make him more comfortable for
driving. Most of the accidents today are mainly because of the
failures of brakes .

 ESP braking system is one of the technical developments for safe

and fatigueless driving experience. This system offers several
additional function besides a new braking behavior due to its
electronic brain: skidding of vehicle, soft-stop, drive-away
assistant, Overstoring and understeering condition.
