• Act of 1964.
Act of 1964 makes discrimination illegal on the basis of color, race,
origin, religion and gender.

against complains from individuals and employees in the court
AGE AND DISCRIMINATION AT WORKPLACE
• The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967
(ADEA) protects individuals who are 40 years of age

age.

discriminate against a person because of

It is a program to recruit applicants from

for those who were discriminated in past.
• Affirmative action program is attempt to create jobs for everyone in
society & blind to color, gender, age and disability.

• Affirmative action programs sets goals and quotas for company to hire
& fire women & minorities in number of
labor force.

• Not justify when hiring unqualified minority over qualified white

• Qualified minority women will be preferred over equally qualified


white person.

• Qualified women can also be given a preference over better qualified


person to achieve affirmative action.

REVERSE DISCRIMINATION

• Non discrimination requires discrimination.


- It means when minority women is given preference over more
qualified white men due to quota system.
ARGUMENTS AGAINT
AFFIRMATIVE ACTIONS
• Individuals are being held responsible for injustices.

• White male group have to sacrifice or compensate everytime due to


affirmative action.

• Affirmative action discriminates againt age : white, middle-aged


males.
EXAMPLE OF REVERSE
DISCIMINATION
• Allan Bakke a white male, denied the admission of young students in
medical college because college was giving admissions to less
intelligent minority students due to quota system. He said it is unfair
for other students who move intelligent and later on he won the case.
