WHY FISH AND IT’S INDUSTRY IS
IMPORTANT ?
Today, fish provides more than one billion people with most
of their daily animal protein, provides nutrients and
micronutrients that are essential to cognitive and physical
development, especially in children, and is an important part
of a healthy diet.
Globally, more than 250 million people depend directly on
fisheries and aquaculture for their livelihoods and millions
are employed in fisheries and aquaculture value chains in
roles such as processing or marketing.
Sustainable, productive fisheries and aquaculture improve
food and nutrition security, increase income and improve
livelihoods, promote economic growth and protect our
environment and natural resources.
THE PRODUCT
SCOOT’S Was founded in 1873 by Alfred B. Scott and Samuel
W. Bowne in New York.
Scott and his colleagues looked at business
opportunities in the interest that grew in cod liver
oil. People are convinced of their extraordinary
health benefits, but are postponed by the bad taste,
so they’re try to create a more suitable version.
They began experimenting and found the first
emulsified cod liver oil version. They call it 'Scott's
Emulsion' and a picture of “a man carrying fish on his
back” that becomes the product trademark.

Cod liver oil is an excellent source of nutrients,

properties. Altought it generally considered safe, you
still need to be careful, because it may have some
