WELCOME TO MY UNACADEMY STUDY PLATFORM

UNIT AND MEASUREMENTS

• PHYSICS is a science in which we deals with events of nature.

• Every thing happens in nature has a UNIT to measurements.

• Ex :- distance between two points are measured in metre (SI unit)
Distance(m) traveled per unit time(s) is measured in m/s (SI).
Etc.
TYPES OF UNIT

• There are two types of unit ?

1. Basic unit 2. Derived unit
Those quantity which is not dependent on any other quantity are called basic
quantity.
Ex:- distance,time,length,tempreture etc.
Unit of basic quantity is called basic units.
Ex :- metre,second,metre,kelvin etc.
TYPES OF UNITS

• 2. Derived quantity

Those quality which is dependent on other unit or derived from other unit are
called
Derived quantity.
Ex :- Area,Volume,speed,force etc.
Units of derived quantities is called derived units.
Ex:- m² (area) , m³ (volume), m/s (speed) etc.
