What is a virus?
A virus is a small infectious agent that replicates
only inside the living cells of other organisms.
Viruses can infect all types of life forms, from
animals and plants to microorganisms, including
bacteria and Algae.
What kills a virus?
A special Chemical called interferon is produced
by the body when viruses are present, and this
stops the viruses from reproducing by killing the
infected cell and its close neighbours
Can a virus kill you?
No cure for HIV exists. The flu may not sound
very scary, but it kills far more people every year
than Ebola does. A highly contagious virus,
influenza sickens far more people than it kills,
with an estimated 3 million to 5 million people
becoming seriously ill yearly from influenza
viruses.
What is the most common virus?
The most common viral infection in the world,
the common cold, can be caused by many
different viruses. Most often, the cold is caused
by an adenovirus, coronavirus or rhinovirus.
Symptoms are typically mild and last between a
week and 10 days.
What is the best way to treat a viral
infection?
For most viral infections, treatments can only
help with symptoms while you wait for your
immune system to fight off the virus. Antibiotics
do not work for viral infections.
Do viruses die?
Viruses can't die, for the simple reason that they
aren't alive in the first place. Although they
coniruses can't thrive independently. Instead,
they must invade a host organism and hijack its
genetic instructions in the form of DNA.

How long does it take for a viral
infection to go away?
Other possible treatment depends on the type
of virus causing the infection. The effects will
last as long as the virus effects the body. Most
viral infections last from several days to 2 weeks.
Mononucleosis may last longer.
What are the symptoms of a virus?
• Watery, usually non-bloody diarrhea
• Abdominal cramps and pain
• Nausea, vomiting or both
• Occasional muscle aches or headache
