What it is about?

• Gender equality is a constitutional principle


that stipulates that men and women are
equal before the law, "which means that all
people, without distinction, have the same
rights and duties vis-à-vis the State and
society as a whole.
Since when does it happen?

• The Commission on the Status of


Women met for the first time in Lake
Success, New York, in February 1947,
shortly after the establishment of the
United Nations.
Who causes it?
• International law prohibits discrimination based on sex, the fundamental basis of this
is acceptance regardless of whether you are male or female.
• The letter signed in San Francisco on June 26, 1945 has positioned the principle of
equal opportunities and non-discrimination in the orbit of fundamental rights.
How does it affect your country?

• Women in Chile continue to participate


less than men in the labor market and
receive less income than men for the
same work.
Solutions / Advice
• In the national and even global context, we have to create in a favorable
environment, it is necessary to have individual advocates and create models.

For example : Enacting laws that change


mentality, such as the laws of gender
violence of all kinds. This should change the
perception of what masculinity means and
what is allowed and what is not.
Personal opinion

• In our opinion, we believe that gender equality is something that must be


present in our society and must be inculcated, it is necessary to be able to
achieve respect in the social relations we have.
• There must be a more equitable treatment in an area as important as work
is.
