 Definition
• The scholarship of engagement means connecting the rich
resources of the university to our most pressing social, civic
and ethical problems, to our children, to our schools, to our
teachers and to our cities (Boyer, 1990)
• application letter is an essay in which the applicants have big
opportunity to demonstrate the applicant’s self (Gen and
Tanabe Kelly, 2009).
• According to those definition we define that scholarship
application is a letter which is composed to propose a
scholarship to an institute or university in which the applicants
can demonstrate themselves.

• Consider the recipient, make sure the goal that you express in
the letter matches with the goal of the scholarship program.
• Tell your story in brief sentence. The story of your life that is
relevant with the major os the scholarship program.
• Be authentic. Your writing should not be over, and it is to use
formal language but it is not too formal.
