3. How will you be able to locate areas on a map or globe?


“We can locate areas on a map or globe using the latitudes and longitudes.”

4. Differentiate LATITUDE from LONGITUDE.


“Latitudes are the horizontal lines running parallels from east to west while the longitudes
are the vertical lines that runs from North to South. Equator is a 00 latitude that divides
the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Prime Meridian is a 00 longitude that divides the
Eastern and Western Hemispheres.”
5. Locate coordinate 10o South and 15o East on your activity sheet. In what hemisphere is it located?
Northern or Southern? Eastern or Western?
“The given coordinates are located in Southern Hemisphere and Eastern Hemisphere”

“The Philippines is located at 14o N and 121o E. It is near, since it is in the upper part of the equator. (14o away
from the equator)”

“Pacific Ocean”

8. Why is the Philippines considered as an archipelago?


“The Philippines is considered as an archipelago since it is surrounded by different bodies of water such as the
Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, South China Sea (West Philippine Sea) ”
