Hammer

 A modern day hammer is a tool consisting of a weighted "head" fixed to a

long handle that is swung to deliver an impact to a small area of an
object.
 The term "hammer" also applies to a mechanism's part that delivers a blow,
such as the hammer of a firearm or of a piano.
TOOLS USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH
HAMMER

 Anvil
 Chisel
 Pipe drift (Blacksmithing - spreading a punched hole to proper size
and/or shape)
 Star drill
 Punch
 Woodsplitting maul – can be hit with a sledgehammer for splitting wood.
 Woodsplitting wedge – hit with a sledgehammer for splitting wood
MANUFACTURING OF HAMMER

 The head is made by a process called hot forging. A length of steel bar is
heated to about 2,200-2,350° F (1,200-1,300° C) and then die cut in the
shape of the hammer head. ... of the handle, with two steel wedges driven
through the wood wedge at right angles to secure it in place.
HACKSAW

 A hacksaw is a fine-toothed saw, originally and mainly made for cutting metal. The
equivalent saw for cutting wood is usually called bow saw.
 Most hacksaws are hand saws with a C-shaped frame that holds a blade under
tension. Such hacksaws have a handle, usually a pistol grip, with pins for attaching
a narrow disposable blade. The frames may also be adjustable to accommodate
blades of different sizes. A screw or other mechanism is used to put the thin blade
under tension
VARIANT

 panel Hacksaw
 Junior hacksaws
 A power hacksaw (or electric hacksaw.
 Power hacksaws
 hacksaws are not very common, they are still produced. Power hacksaws
of the type powered by stationary engines and line shafts, like other line-
shaft-powered machines, are now rare; museums and antique-tool
hobbyists still preserve a few of them.

Quality

 The Industrial Quality Control article provides you with information about
vendors and construction contractors quality control systems, manuals,
plans, forms and their basic requirements.
Quality Assurance

 Quality Assurance is popularly known as QA Testing, is defined as an

activity to ensure that an organization is providing the best possible
product or service to customers. QA focuses on improving the processes to
deliver Quality Products to the customer. An organization has to ensure,
that processes are efficient and effective as per the quality standards
defined for software products.
Quality Assurance Process

 Quality assurance has a defined cycle called PDCA cycle or Deming

cycle. The phases of this cycle are:
 Plan
 Do
 Check
 Act
PDCA

Plan - Organization should plan and establish the

process related objectives and determine the processes
that are required to deliver a high-Quality end product.

Do - Development and testing of Processes and also

"do" changes in the processes

Check - Monitoring of processes, modify the

processes, and check whether it meets the
predetermined objectives

Act - Implement actions that are necessary to

achieve improvements in the processes
