services

Need for Quality Improvement
• There is a significant quality gap between
known and recommended evidence-based
care, and the actual care that is delivered.
• 50% in adult, only 46% in pediatrics
Ethics in Pediatrics Care
• A branch of bioethics that analyzes moral
aspects of decisions made relating to the
health care of children.
• The autonomy driven framework of adult
medical ethics is replaced by a beneficent
paternalism in pediatrics.
• In older children the concept of assent suggest
that the voice of the patient must be heard.
