 Invented in the late 19th century, coke is a carbonated soft drink originally intended as a patent
medicine.
 A typical can of Coca-cola (355 ml) contains 38 grams of sugar, 50mg of sodium, 0 grams fat, 0
grams potassium and 140 calories.
 Coca-cola India invested over $1bn in building new production facilities, waste water treatment
plants, developing marketing and distribution systems.
 Realized that Indian youth were obsessed with Hindi movie stars and cricketers. It roped the
celebs for advertisements to create a connection with the target group and the brand.
 Hindustan Coca-cola Beverages posted 11% growth in revenues at 9,472 crore as per latest
filling with the Registrar of Companies.
 A newer version of Coca-cola, called Coca-cola light or diet coke has been introduced which is a
sugar free, no-calorie soft drink for the diet conscious population and individuals with diabetes
mellitus.
