Asking and Giving Opinion

Description :

• Opinion includes the words of opinion and


argument/ reasons.
• Opinion dialogue is a dialog consists of two
persons or more who have opinion each others.
It can use the expressions, such as in my
opinion, in my view, I think etc.
Asking Opinions:

• What do you think/reckon?


• do you see what I’m getting at?
• Do you know/see what I mean?
• Do you agree with me?
• Would you agree with me that … ?
• What are your thoughts on that?
• Don’t you think (that) … ?
Giving Opinions:

• In my opinion … In my view …
• From my point of view …
• The way I see it is (that) …
• To my mind …
• Well, I reckon (that) …
• I (strongly) believe (that) …
• I (honestly) think (that) …
• Personally speaking, I believe …
Response:

Refusing an opinion : Agreeing to an opinion :

• I don’t think so • I agree with you


• Sorry, but I disagree with • I think so
you • It’s true
• I don’t think it’s a good • That’s Right

Example :

Anna : How are you?


Bella : I am fine. How about you?
Anna : I am fine too, Thanks Asking opinion
Bella : Hey, what do you think about my new dress?
Anna : Wow, I think it is a beautiful dress with a newest style. Where did you
buy it? Giving opinion
Bella : My mom bought it for my birthday gift. What your opinion about the color?
Anna : Hmm, in my opinion, the color is not too good Asking opinion
Bella : Why? You know it is my mom choise Refusing
Anna : Because the color is glamour and look too over for you, but i am
appreciate it.
Bella : Yeah, thanks for your opinion, anna
Annna : Okay, No problem
