Information Report

Donald M. Patimo, MPM

Definition
 According to Arroyo, an informational report is
one that contains and presents facts. In this kind
of report, the writer does not include his
opinions or his interpretation of the facts and
neither does he offer solutions or
recommendations. The informational report is
useful for its facts alone which can be the basis
for other reports or for decisions by
management. An example of this type of report
is a salesman’s weekly sales report.
Definition

 According to Macabuhay, informational

reports are factual reports that do not
include the writer’s opinions. An example
is a report on the employee’s daily
attendance.
 According to Lesikar, information reports
do nothing more than to present facts.
Steps
1. Your work on a report logically begins with a
need, which we refer generally as the
problem. Your first task is to get the problem
clearly in mind. To do this you should begin
by gathering all the information you need to
understand the problem.
2. If the problem concerns a need for information,
your mental effort should produce the main
areas about which information is needed.
Steps

3. Gathering the information needed:

1. Conduct personal investigation
2. Experiments or surveys
3. Library Researches
4. Internet
5. Various Research Techniques
