Etymology: Sujatna (2008:1) syntax is originates from the Greek words


Syn = “together” and taxis = sequence, order, arragement

Terminology :Syntax is the part of linguistics that studied the


structure and formation of sentences. It explain how words and
phrases are arranged to form coherent sentences. (Febriani: 2018)

So, we can conclude that English syntax is the part of linguistics that studied the
