1. Define learning and discuss the principle of adult
learning.
2. Identify the characteristic of adult learner.

LEARNING
 Refers to the acquisition of new knowledge and new
responses, resulting in a change in behavior.

EDUCATION
 Is the process of establishing habits of critical and
independent appraisal of information for the purpose of
intellectually developing the whole person.

TRAINING
 Is an approach to learning perform specific task or activites.
Trainers follow a well defined path leading to a destination,
while educators wander in the fields on either side of the
path.

LEARNING:
 the activity or process of gaining knowledge or skill by
studying, practicing, being taught, or experiencing
something : the activity of someone who learns.

1. RECENCY
 Things are learn last are those that are best
remembered by the participants.
 This apply to two separate areas of learning.
1. It applies to the content at the end of the session.
2. It applies to the things that are freshest in the
participants

2. APPROPRIATENESS
 All the training, information, training aids, case
studies and other materials must be appropriate to
the participants need.

3. MOTIVATION
 Shows us that the participants must want to learn,
must ready to learn and must have some reason to
learn.

4. PRIMACY
 Things participants learn first are usually learnt
best, so the first impression or pieces of
information which participants get from the trainer
are really important.

5. FEEDBACK
 Inform us that both the facilitator and the
participants need information from each other.

6. ACTIVE LEARNING
 Show us that participants learn more when they are
actively involved in the process. Remember the
saying “we learn by doing”.

7. EXERCISE
 OVERLEARNING or meaningful repetition. It tells
the thing best remember if they are repeated.

8. MULTI-SENSE LEARNING
 Says that learning is far more effective if the
participants use more than of their five sense.
