considered as closely connected by modern
telecommunications.

 Economically, socially, and politically


interdependent.

• Establishing “One Human Family”


– Giving monetary aid and economic goods to
nations who have suffered losses due to natural
phenomenon.

• The Existence of Symbiotic Relationship

– People in global community acknowledge the fact


that no one can independently exist alone without
other.

– Nations are Interdependent.

• The Belief in “Universal Responsibility”

– Preservation of the Environment against pollutants


and other wastes.

– Campaigns to fight climate change

• Advocacy in the use of non-violent means in


the attainment of international order

– The enactment of International Law

• People sharing similar values although living in


different locations.

– Forbids all forms of discrimination by reason of


race, nationality, gender, creed, age, or language.

– Under this principle a nation has the right to


invoke discrimination against any entity that will
deprive them of such right.

– Peacekeeping missions

– Rescue and Retrieval Operations for calamity

provide military aid and protection to a member
state.

• A formal agreement between two or more
nations for broad long term objectives.

• In the context of international law, “Treaties


must be observed in good faith”

Advantages of an Alliance
• An alliance is form of mutual defense and cooperation

• An alliance is formed in response to apparent threats


like war and foreign aggression

• An alliance promotes peace

• Arrest and prosecution of criminals and other


fugitives are made easier.
Disadvantages of an Alliance
• In case of war, it is inevitable for members to be
involved in war.

• Importation of goods arising from trade


agreements will affect the demand for local
goods.

• The political sovereignty of a state will be


affected.
Termination of Alliance
• Failure to comply with military and trade obligations will put
commercial exchange in jeopardy.

• Non adherence to military and trade agreements can lead to


alliance termination.

• Conflicts may arise between former allies.


– Some countries can bring the issue to a third party or neutral state for
a possible solution.
