COMPUTER APPLICATION USED

IN HOSPITALS AND MEDICINES

GROUP MEMBERS
INTRODUCTION

 Computer Application is also known as computer software which is designed to

help the user to perform singular or multiple related specific tasks.
eg:- Educational software

 It is often necessary to maintain detailed records of the medical history of patients.

Doctors often require the information about a patient’s family history, physical
ailments, already diagnosed diseases and prescribed medicines.

 This information can be effectively stored in a computer database.

 Computers can keep track of prescriptions and billing information.

 Computers enable an efficient storage of huge amounts of medical data

Information Technology Impact on the Healthcare
Industry

 ITDrivenByCare

 This has driven the emergence, and growing sophistication

of the Electronic Medical Record, (EMR).

 This module stores all medical data related to patient’s clinic visit.
 Provides analysis of all data related to patient’s previous clinic visits.
 Provides the clinicians a better knowledge about the patient’s health
status .
 Helps clinicians to take accurate Medical decisions
Billing Module

 Billing module is meant for the usage by Biller and

Admin.

 Charge Processing
 Payment Processing
 Patient
 Collection Cycle
 Claim Processing
 Advanced Reports

Admission – Transfer – Discharge (ADT) Module

 The ADT module of the IDMSys tracks all the Admissions, Discharges and
transfers in a hospital.

 The system comes with a complete pre discharge process.

 The system has the capability to record all medical staff involved in the
patient’s care process.

 The system captures all payment details like insurance coverage or

employer details in case of corporate clients
Patient Monitoring System

A system for providing continuous monitoring of a

patient, including periods of transport, includes a
data acquisition and processing module receiving
physiological data from the patient.
Patient monitoring can reduce the risk of infection
and other complications, as well as assist in
providing for patient comfort.
Remote patient monitoring system

A remote patient monitoring system was developed

for improved chronic disease management.
The system utilizes commodity mobile phones and
newly introduced Bluetooth-enabled medical
devices to transmit patient physiological information
from the home to a central repository where alerts
and reports can be generated and delivered to both
patient and provider.
Objective to create this system

The primary objective of this project was to design

and develop a user-centric home monitoring system
to improve chronic disease management.
The system utilizes affordable and commonly
available technology.  Patients monitor their blood
pressure, glucose, weight, etc.
Patient monitoring in Intensive care Units

Patients with unstable physiologic regulatory

systems.
Patients with a suspected life-threatening condition.
Patients at high risk of developing a life-threatening
condition.
Patients in a critical physiological state.
CONTD
Such units use computers almost universally for the
following purposes:
To acquire physiological data frequently or
continuously, such as blood pressure readings
· To communicate information from data-producing
systems to remote locations (for example,
laboratory and radiology departments)
To store, organize, and report data
To integrate and correlate data from multiple
sources
WHAT IS RADIOLOGY?
Radiology is the branch of medicine that deals with
the study and application of imaging technology like
x-ray and radiation to diagnosing and trading
diseases.
