design are all types of art that have physical
functions.
The Social Functions of Art

Art communicates. Most often it is


constructed with the intention of sharing
responses to and opinions about life with
others.

Many works of art influence the way we think, feel


or act. They cause us to laugh at a certain
phenomena, raise our voices in protest over
matters or see a social reality.

These arts are also linked to rituals . They have


played an important role in peoples lives and
have influenced the growth of certain arts as
well
Social Description

Art works are vital historical documents even


without the intention of the artist is to present
historical pictures. It reveal how people
thought, felt, and lived in a certain historical
period
The Personal Functions of Art

The personal functions of art are often the most


difficult to explain. There are many types of
personal function, and they are subjective and
will, therefore, vary from person to person.
 Are vehicles for the artists' expression of their
feelings and ideas.
