POPULATION
Introduction:-

Population growth plays a conflicting role in the development process of a


country. When the population grows faster than GDP the standard of living
does not improve. The size and composition of a country’s population can
have a powerful influence on a country as population of India is 16.7% and
as per census 2011 :
• Delhi’s population - 16.75 million
• India’s population - 1027 million

India has a huge population. It contributes to 1/5th of the world population.


It is the second most populated country in the world next to china. India’s
population is growing at an alarming rate. It was 340 million in 1947 & it
took just 34 years to double in 1981 to reach 680 million. India’s current
population is 1.35 billion in 2018.
