ETHICS
 Derived is derived from the Greed word ethicos,
which means “custom” or “character.”
 In it’s formal context, ethics is defined as the
philosophical (normative and theoretical) science
that deals with the morality of human conduct.
 It equips man with a theoretical knowledge of the
morality of human acts.
 - Ethics, as a normative philosophical science, is a
theoretical science of good and bad or right and wrong
actions.
 it is the philosophical discipline that provides the
principles on the morality of human acts.
 It equips man with a theoretical knowledge of the
morality of human acts.
 Ethics, however, does not guarantee that the human
person will be actually live a good and moral life.
MORALITY - Of Latin derivation (mos or moris).
 One must be able to apply the theories of ethics
for one to actually live a good and moral life.
 When one does this, one is already in the
ambiance of morality which is the praxis of the
theory (Ethics).
 Morality, therefore, should be properly called
Applied Ethics.
BIOLOGY

 Is generally understood as the natural science that


deals with the issue of life.
 Its importance can be seen in the context of its
intrinsic role to protect and safeguard the welfare
of all living species.
BIOETHICS
 is categorically an overarching, or to the most, a
blanket discipline in the ambit of human life and
human existence.
 Its intrinsic and multifarious interests start from
fertilization, or the primordial and ontological
beginning of human life, an it finally glorifies its
ardent pursuit until the last breath of human
existence, i.e. death.
BIOETHICS
 Bioethics is a discipline that deals with the ethical implications of

 Bioethics is the study of ethical issues that emanate from the
changes and developments in the life science technologies

 It is a branch of ethics that deals with the life sciences and their
impact in society

 It is a branch of ethics that analyzes moral values in the context of
