Introduction:

HDFC Bank Ltd. is an Indian banking and financial services company headquartered
in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It has a base of 1,04,154 permanent employees as of 30 June
2019. HDFC Bank is India’s largest private sector lender by assets. It is the largest bank
in India by market capitalisation as of February 2016. It was ranked 60th in 2019 BrandZ
Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands.

HDFC Bank provides a number of products and services including wholesale


banking, retail banking, treasury, auto loans, two wheeler loans, personal loans, loans
against property, consumer durable loan, lifestyle loan and credit cards. Along with this
various digital products are Payzapp and SmartBUY.
Objectives:

• To open new accounts by convincing customers and to promote the benefits provided by
the bank
• To find out different ways of convincing customers
• To study the behavior of customer related to banking product and services
• To identify the switching factors for customer from one bank to another
• To identify the effect of advertisement and promotional activities in the mind of
customers.

Interpretation/Findings:

• 51% people came to know about bank through Friends and Family. Here we
can say that word of mouth is more effective in Satara Area.
• The Main Purpose of visiting branch is to depositing cash , passbook
updation and cheque deposit.
• The customers are moving ahead with technology and using internet banking
as well as ATM Services
• Customers want to open account online and needs improvised technology
for hassle free payment
Suggestions:

• For increasing market share bank can think over reducing the minimum balance
limit of 10000 to 5000.
• Bank can engage in more promotional activities to aware the existing customers as
well as engaging new customers
• Bank Can install cash deposit machine as well as passbook printing machine in
various branches to reduce footfall
• Bank can tie up with educational institutes and companies to recommend HDFC
product.
• Special Privileged can also be provided to HNW Customers (High Net Worth).
