Purification is a process of
removing impurities from a
substance.
Filtration
 Is a process of separating solid from liquid.
 Forexample, to remove salt, the sand is
mix with water. The water dissolve the salt.
Then the sand is separated from the salt
water by filtration.
Crystallisation 结晶
 Is a proses of forming crystal from a liquid
 Forexample, the salt is removed from the
water by heating the salt water.
 When heated, most of the water
evaporates, leaving a saturated solution.
Then the solution is cooled to get the salt
crystals.
Distillation 蒸馏
 isa process to obtain a pure liquid from a
solution of liquid mixture.
 The liquid mixture consists of solutions with
different boiling point.
 The liquid mixture is heated until a liquid is
boils and turn into vapour.
 When the vapour cool down, it condense
into a pure liquid.
 Mixture of liquid X has a boiling
point of 78°C and liquid Y has a
boiling point of 100 °C. Liquid X
