METHODOLOGY:-
 The study was conducted
through questionnaire method.
 The data was collected from
personal interview , (drivers )
& some information through
consumers.
 The internal information
generated by the website ,
magazine & newspapers.
FINDINGS:
 BMTC is the first public sector enterprise in India to introduce
Volvo B7RLE intra-city buses in 2006.

 FARE: The range from Rs 2/- a km in the first stages to Rs 0.5/-


per km as the distance increases.
 BMTC provided daily pass at Rs.35/- per day.

 In a day BMTC operates on 578 city and 1756 sub urban routes,
running 12 lack Km and making 750000 trips.

 Ridership = Approximately 3.7 million.

 Annual Gross Revenue =Rs 25.5 Million.

 Shantinagar bus station

TYPE OF BUSES:
 Blue and White : introduced in 2001 (pneumatic door).
 White and Blue : introduced between 2002 and 2008,
(Parisara vahini ).
 Suvarna : Silver colored with red lining.(LED boards).
 Pushpak : Single door bus with/without conductors.
 Vajra : Hi-tech buses from VOLVO.
 Vayu Vajra : Volvo buses to airport operated from 12
routes.
 Atal Sarige : Low-cost , single seats , 1 June 2009.
 Marcopolo : AC buses as well as non-AC from  TATA.
SERVICES:
 BMTC was the first in the country to introduce intra-city
Volvo buses.
 Operates the longest city bus route in India.
 BMTC provides concession of 25% in fares to senior
citizens in all types of buses.
 Children below the age of 12 are given 50% concession.
 woman's are working.
 Increase employment.
 Connect rural to urban areas.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:
 Lack of Punctuality.
 Too many routes & route nos.
 Bunching up of buses .
 Lack of information.
 Few Volvo services.
 Personal vehicles.
 Traffic.
 Costly fares.
 Information display.
 Crowd.
 Accidents
LIMITATIONS:
Study was done in :
 Majestic bus stand (15 drivers).
 Shivaji nagar bus stand ( 10 drivers).
 Sultanpaliya bus depot (20 drivers).
 Students of IIBS (app.90)
 Consumers ( app.20-25)
Time spend:
 Only 15 days.
CONCLUSION:
 Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC)
is enjoying the distinction of best performance mass
transport system in India.
 Its works for social welfare.
 The services of BMTC is more satisfactory.
 Due to increase of small vehicles its revenues comes
down.
 Out of 10 -7 people are depend on BMTC only.
RECOMMONDATIONS:
 Fly over.
 Wide roads.
 Decrease fare.
 Starting metro rail.
 Display board with Hindi.
 Volvo buses for every routes.
 Enquiry board on every stoppages.
 More buses connect through rural areas.
 Drivers or conductors must know about Hindi.
 Services start more in early morning & late night.
