Zeus
Zeus is an ancient
Greek mythical god.
He was the son of
Rhea and Cronus, and
was the youngest child
of six.His father knew
he would be
overthrown by
Zeus.When he was
born,Cronus wanted to
swallow him whole.His
mother wrapped a
blanket with rocks,and
put Zeus on an island
.Cronus thought it was
Zeus,so he swallowed
the rock.
When he grew up,Zeus forced his father to fight.Zeus
was so powerful,so he won the fight.Zeus became the
supreme god of Olympus, and the king of all gods
and humans.
Zeus`siblings were Hades, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera
and Hestia. Zeus' symbols were the thunderbolt,
eagle, bull and the oak. Zeus married with his
sister,Hera, but he had children with other women.
He is often described as a
Strong,imposing man with a
Regal body and long,curly hair.
Hera
Hera is the wife of
Zeus, the Queen of
Olympus, and the
Olympian goddess of
marriage.Her marriage,
however, was an
unhappy one, she was
usually presented as a
beautiful woman
wearing a crown and
holding a royal
sceptre, and sometimes
accompanied by a lion.
Before her marriage
with Zeus, she ruled
over the heavens and
the Earth. This is one
reason why she is
referred to as ‘The
Queen of Heaven’ .
She was the protector
of women.Hera was a
very jealous wife. She
wanted Zeus all to
herself, but Zeus
cheated on her
constantly with other
mortal women.
Hera often took out her
revenge on the women
who Zeus loved and the
children they had with
Zeus. She hated
Heracles, one of Zeus’
sons, and she tried to
kill him when he was a
baby by sending two
snakes to kill him as he
slept in his crib. Hera’s
symbol was the peacock.
Hera was very
powerful.She was very
important for people too.
