Function
Objectives:
 Define organizing as a management function,
 Discuss the importance and principles of organizing
 Analyze how organizing as a management function is applied
to education.
 Identify programs and activities in DepEd that needs to be
organized.

 Divide the class into two (2) groups. Each
group will be given an activity sheet.
 Analyze and discuss among your group
members what will you do with the given
scenario in the activity sheets. Discuss your
output in the class.
Organizing
 Organizing function of management
synchronizes and combines the human,
physical, and financial resources of the
organization. All the three (3) resources are
important to achieve the desired goals.
Organizing
 Organizing is a function by which the
concern is able to define role positions, the
jobs related and the coordination between
authority and responsibility. (Chester
Barnard)
Organizing
 Organizing usually comes after planning. It
is the process of assigning people specific
tasks given the physical and financial
resources to be used to achieve the
expected output or outcome.
Importance of Organizing
 Organizing function helps in achieving
effective administration by clarifying the
authority and responsibility amongst
superiors and subordinates.

The organizing process can be done
efficiently if the managers have
certain guidelines so that they can
take decisions and can act.

Organizing as Applied to Education
 Organizing as a management function has
various application in education, specifically
in educational management. Education
leaders must be a creative organizers in
order to achieve educational goals.
Effective organizing maximises output while
employing less resources. Effective
organizing is cost and labor effective.
Organizing School Programs and Activities
 DepEd, particularly the schools have various programs and
activities to organize:
 Feeding Program
 Graduation
 Inauguration/Thanksgiving
 Christmas Celebration
 Monthly Activities (YES-O, Nutrition, Buwan ng Wika, etc.
 Curricular programs and many others
 These activities call for an efficient organizing skills of a leader to
achieve the objectives of the programs. This includes the use of
human, physical and financial resources of the organization.
 The steps in organizing should apply to these various activities.
Organizing committees/taskforce
 In schools, all programs have established
committees to perform the responsibility given.
Specialization or skills are considered in
organizing committees and task force assigned
to a certain program. These committee and
taskforce are accountable of the responsibilities
given and are directed to report to the School
Head the updates of the accomplishment of
tasks given. This applies the principle of
delegation
Organization of classes
 Organization of classes in one organizing
activity in the school that needs careful
planning and strategic organizing.
 Class scheduling is very tedious in big
schools with huge number of enrolment and
teachers.

programs and activities that need to be
organized when implemented in schools.
