What is order?

-An order in architecture is a certain


assemblage of parts subject to uniform
established proportions.

Greek orders are:


 Doric – sturdy and plain
 Ionic – thinner and more elegant. (scroll like design)
 Corinthians – decorated with acanthus
leaves

Corinthian Columns
