GENERALITIES

• Anisakis spp is a round tube worm digestive, which belongs to the edge of the nematodes.
• Adult worms are cylindrical, elongated and pointed in the extremes.
• Anisákidos have a cosmopolitan distribution derived from the habitats of their hosts.
• In the case of gender Anisakis spp the definitive hosts are cetaceans such as whales, killer whales,
dolphins.
• Anisakiosis occurs after ingestion of live third stage larvae and depending on the location of the
lesions can be considered gastric, intestinal or ectopic.
