 Is a country located at East Asia.
During the Han Dynasty, paper was invented by
Cai Lun and it was first used in China. The first
paper was made from rags, but later plant
materials were used such as bark, hemp and
bamboo.
Paper and woodblock print were among the most
important Chinese inventions.
Chinese
Art
has the oldest continuous tradition in
the world, and is marked by an unusual
degree of continuity within, and
consciousness of that tradition, lacking an
equivalent to the western collapse and
gradual recovery of classical styles.
Chinese art is a visual art that, whether
ancient or modern, originated in or out is
practiced in China or by Chinese artists.

techniques in
Chinese painting
1. Gongbi ( 工笔 /gong-
bee/), meaning
“meticulous”, uses highly
detailed brushstrokes that
delimit details very
precisely. It is often
practiced by artists
working for the royal court
or in independent
workshops.
Bird-and-flower paintings
is often used in this style.
2. Ink and wash
painting, is a loosely
termed water color or
brush painting, and also
known as “literati
painting”, as it was one
of the “Four Arts” of the
Chinese Scholar-official
class.
