THE TERMINOLOGY OF DRAMA
• In literature,a chracater is a verbal representation of a
human being as presented to us by authors through the
depiction of actions interpretion
,conversation,description,reaction,inner thoughts and
reflections, and also through the author’s own
interpretive commentary.
• Characters are fictitious creations and thus the
dramatist my be judge with regard to their ability in the
art of characterization.
CHARACTES IN ACTION
The analyzingof characters is a great deal by observing
their actions in plays.
How do they behave in different situations.
How do they differ from one another in their bahvior when
sharing the same situation.
How is their action made logical by what we know of their
thoughts and motives.

THE TYPE OF CHARACTERS
There are basically two kind or types of character
• Flat characters is a type of character in fiction that does not
change too much from the start of the narrative to its end. Flat
characters are often said not to have any emotional depth.
• a round character in a novel, play, or story is a complex
personality. Like real people, they have depth in feelings and
passions. For instance, in the movie “Shrek,” the main character
says “‘Ogres are like onions,” which means that, what appears
to them is not the only truth. Rather, there is something more
inside them
