PUBLIC SAFETY
Public security is the function of governments which ensures the protection of
citizens, persons in their territory, organizations, and institutions against threats to
their well-being – and to the prosperity of their communities.[1]
Public safety organizations include law enforcement, fire and emergency medical
services. The public safety issues a municipality, county, state, or federal
jurisdiction might grapple with include narcotic use, trespassing, burglary,
harassment, juvenile delinquency, unauthorized living, noise, littering,
inappropriate social behavior, inebriation, and other quality of life issues. Generally
organizations are involved in the prevention of and protection from events that
could endanger the safety of the general public from significant danger, injury,
or property damage, such as crimes or disasters (natural or human-made).
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
1. controlling the traffic becomes
major issues because of rapid
increase in automobiles .
2. large time delays between traffic
lights.
SOLUTION:
use IR sensors to measure the traffic
density.

FUTURE WORK :

The traffic check post may be connected by wireless

transmitters by which the crossings ahead may be an
anticipation of the traffic that is approaching. This may be
achieved the connecting the sensor network with GPS
connectivity and short wave radio transmission signals. This
will act as a feedforward system making the signaling system
even more smooth and congestion free.
