President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed on April 10, 2007
Republic Act 9418 also known as the “Volunteer Act of 2007”
institutionalizing volunteerism as a strategy for national
development and international cooperation.

It is a collaborative effort of PNVSCA, partner volunteer

organizations and advocates of volunteerism toward providing a
conducive and enabling environment for volunteering in the
Philippines. RA 9418 was published in the Official Gazette on
June 11, 2007
 INTRODUCTION
VOLUNTEERISM
Refers to an act involving a wide range of activities
Provides an enabling and empowering environment
both on the part of the beneficiary receiving,and the
volunteer rendering the act,
Commitment or conviction for the attainment of the
public good
And where monetary and other incentives or reward
are not the primary motivating factors.
VOLUNTEER

Service Coordinating Agency

Coordinating Agency, created by Executive
Order No. 134 as amended, shall undertake

Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency
(PNVSCA)
The PNVSCA shall have the following functions:
