INTRODUCTION
• It uses various sensor, such as- Pulse sensor, temperature sensor. and collects and storing

health related information.

• checks for abnormalities and emergencies from collected information also alerts the

individual and saved contacts in case of emergencies.

• It checks on various parameters related to health and take necessary pre-cautions, as and

when needed.

• Reduce or prevent health related emergencies and misshapes.

MOTIVATION
• In rural hospitals, the facilities for health caring are limited.

• In developing countries there is lack of resources and management to

reach out the problems of individuals.
REASONS TO BUILD A HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM

Reason #1: It is portable

Reason #2: It can monitor health conditions all the time

Reason #3: It can be cheaper than existing solutions

Reason #4: It simplifies health monitoring for medical staff

Reason #5: It is multifunctional

OBJECTIVE:

• The main motive of this device is to monitor patient’s health without anyone’s supervision. In the
critical room it is not always possible to keep an eye on patient’s health, so it stores all the data

• This device records patient’s health and sends SMS to the doctors and when patient’s body
temperature or heart beat goes beyond the average level.
SYSTEM WORKING

The proposed health monitoring systems has 2

functions. They are,

• Measuring body temperature of the patient:

Arduino reads the analog data from the
temperature sensor (LM35) and Display it on the
display

• Measuring heart rate of the patient: using a Fitbit

wearable sensor module
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

In this system the signal pin of

temperature sensor and pulse sensor
are connected to the Arduino’s
Analog port A0, A1 respectively .

one10k pot-meter is use to stable the

variable analog value of the sensors.

Another 10k pot-meter is use adjust the

contrast5 of the LCD display.
MATERIALS REQUIRED

• Temperature sensor (LM35)

• Pulse sensor

• Arduino UNO

• 16*2 LCD Display

SOFTWARE USEED

 We have used Arduino IDE Software

to upload Program to the Arduino
Board
SOURCE CODE
RESULT
Applications

• It can be widely used training aid for a variety of sports.

• Hospitals / Dispensaries
• Better and accurate method of measuring heart beat at home.
• It can be use by the Emergency medical unit (EMU).
ADVANTAGES
• Automating these services helps in reducing the burden on human beings and yields more
accurate results.

• The transparency of the system helps people to rely on it.

• The objective of developing such a system is to reduce health care costs and also provide a faster
way to detect a problem.

• This system can be easily installed in hospitals, houses and can serve as a large database to collect
data.

• Prior Alert of cardiotack.

• Monitor the health condition of a person.

• Improvement of health fittness

DISADVANTAGES

Too much of human dependence on these machine can cause trouble, as a

malfunction in any of the module can lead to serious health issue of a patient. Else,
there are no disadvantages as such.
CONCLUSION
• The project “Health monitoring System using Arduino”has been successfully
designed and tested.
• It has been developed by integrating features of all the hardware
components used.Presence of every module has been reasoned out and
placed carefully thus contributing to the best working of the unit.
• The whole health monitoring system, which we have proposed can be
integrated into a small compact unit as small as a cell phone a wrist watch.
This will help the patients to easily carry this device with them wherever they
go.
